NFL vs. NCAA

When I was in High School, college football was my fascination. I enjoyed learning about each conference, the names and mascots of each team and quickly found myself becoming a champion of the underdog (ie. Mount Union, Delaware State, Hofstra, etc).

I'm not sure where my original love for NCAA action went, but it might have had something to do with going to a number of different colleges, not planting roots properly and feeling like I had no "home team" I could rally behind.

I went to Oklahoma State University for a few years, Tulsa Community College, a stint in Houston, followed by finishing up at Northeastern State University. When I attended OSU, we went 0-10-1, which made it extremely difficult to swear allegiance.

After graduation, I moved on to other pursuits and didn't pay a lot of attention to the college ranks. I've always been a fan of the mascots, logos, color schemes and branding overall, but not much else. My best friend is from the New Orleans area and I found myself really getting into the Saints and the NFL.

Fantasy Football became all the rage and my love for NFL was set. Since joining the ranks of Zazzle, I have rekindled my love for NCAA and continue to pursue my love of the NFL. This should be reflected in a lot of my designs, especially the "I Love" collection.

I'm going to post designs for the states I have finished and then move on to other areas that I already have going. I've got a lot of camouflage, argyle, outdoorsy patterns and fun phrases. This blog is a way for me to showcase a few (ton) of items and take my mind off of the design process for awhile.

If you have any requests on color combinations for the different states, I'm more than happy to create. Thanks for checking out this blog and I look forward to conversing with you all in the future.

Arizona

The major in-state rivalry between the Arizona Wildcats and Arizona State Sun Devils seemingly is overshadowed every year by either Oregon's amazing uniforms, Stanford's salty win streaks or USC vs UCLA. Here's a few Arizona designs I've either made or found on Zazzle. Check 'em out.

Arkansas

There's two things that drive Arkansas economy - Razorback football and Wal-Mart. Fans from Little Rock, Fort Smith, Hot Springs, Pine Bluff and Siloam Springs make the weekly drive to catch the Arkansas Razorbacks in classic SEC action. Below are a few products that serve well on the couch or office. Go Hogs!

Alabama

One of the most dominating college football programs in the last 5 years has been the Alabama Crimson Tide. Coach Sabin has put together an NFL beast making machine, on the college level. Inspired by the colors of Alabama and Auburn, I created a handful of sports themed products to get everyone ready for the watch party season and college football, in general. I hope you enjoy.

Alaska

The first concept I began working on was to take the phrase "I Love" and turn it into whatever I fancied. I opted to start off by creating I Love designs by state. This original idea then led to combining the I Love design with sports team color palettes. Other ideas for inspiration included the colors utilized in the state flag. In this case, Alaska didn't really have a football team, so I opted to use the Blue and Gold found in the state flag, combined with a few other staple patterns.  A few of the designs are below.

I Have An Addiction - Zazzle

I started an account on Zazzle 8 weeks ago. I can honestly say that I've never been decent at graphics. For some reason, the ease of use on the site and my noodling on PICMONKEY have resulted in a ridiculous amount of products. Sports is the main theme I enjoy the most, as I focus on creating designs with team colors in mind. I'm also into argyles, camo, international stuff and pro wrestling. I know, I know. I'm all over the map. Some would say I'm a hot mess. Anyways, this blog is for me to showcase some of my designs and hopefully they will resonate with some of you.

I make a minimal amount in commissions for the products or referrals that I get and hope that you actually like some of what I have created. Thanks for visiting.
